Notepay — Terms of Service

1. Nature of the Service

NotePay is an independent digital record-keeping and financial management platform designed to assist event organizers, teams, and community groups with transparent ledger tracking, contribution recording, and expenditure accounting.

Non-Banking Declaration: NotePay is not a bank, financial institution, payment gateway, custodian, or money transmitter. NotePay does not hold, process, transmit, custody, or manage monetary funds directly on its servers. All payments settle directly between respective parties through external banking channels.

2. User Accounts & Ledger Responsibilities

Account Integrity: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your authentication credentials and all activity conducted under your registered account.

Data Authenticity: Event organizers and designated collectors maintain sole responsibility for the authenticity, correctness, and completeness of financial entries, custom metadata, and expense receipts recorded on the platform.

Dispute Resolution: NotePay provides mathematical calculation and recording tools; any financial disagreements or accounting discrepancies must be resolved directly among the event organizers, contributors, and members.

3. Peer-to-Peer Contributions & UPI Routing

Direct Settlement: Contribution links and dynamic QR codes generated by NotePay facilitate direct, peer-to-peer transfers via external payment applications (such as UPI). NotePay is not an intermediary party to payment transactions.

Organizer Configuration: Organizers are responsible for providing valid payment identifiers (UPI ID and Registered Name). NotePay is not liable for transfer routing errors resulting from inaccurate configuration.

Automated Receipt Processing: Uploaded payment proof images are processed through automated optical character recognition (OCR) to assist verification. Event organizers retain ultimate administrative authority over all ledger confirmations.

4. Real-Time Communications & Notifications

Operational Messaging: By granting notification permissions, you consent to receive automated operational communications, including contribution notices, expense entries, team delegation updates, system insights, and scheduled weekly financial digests.

Delivery Disclaimer: Push notification delivery is provided on a best-effort basis and depends on third-party mobile carriers, operating system power-management policies, and browser push services. NotePay does not guarantee delivery within specific timeframes and is not liable for delayed notifications.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, NotePay and its affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from:

Inaccuracies, errors, or omissions in financial records logged by event organizers or users.

Offline financial losses, fund misallocation, or disputes arising among event participants.

Temporary service interruptions, scheduled maintenance, or unauthorized account access resulting from compromised user devices.

6. Artificial Intelligence Advisory Disclaimer

The integrated @ai financial assistant and automated verification engines are software-assisted analytical tools. Outputs are generated for operational convenience and do not constitute certified accounting, audit, legal, or tax advisory services.

Users must independently review and verify mathematical calculations and transaction proofs prior to making binding financial decisions.

7. Acceptable Use & Service Termination

Users agree to utilize NotePay strictly in compliance with applicable laws. Prohibited activities include fraudulent collection schemes, unauthorized automated scraping, transmitting unlawful material, or attempting to compromise platform security. NotePay reserves the right to restrict access, deactivate events, or terminate accounts found in violation of these terms.
